ヘレン・ケラーの生涯は、困難の連続です。
そもそも、幼い頃に病気で視覚・聴覚に障害をもった彼女。
『障がいは不便です。しかし不幸ではありません』
と多くの人に勇気と希望を与えたヘレン・ケラーの生涯。
サリバン先生と勉強し、活動した一生が綴られています。
めちゃくちゃ印象が大きい人生です。
見れない、聴けない彼女が勉強に励む様子に元気がもらえました。
どんな状況になっても、「学びたい」意志で進んだヘレン・ケラーを尊敬しています。
初めて与える（読む）なら、ヘレン・ケラーおすすめです！
第2位 伊能忠敬
伊能忠敬も印象強い偉人のひとりです。
日本地図を作った人ですね。（厳密には伊能忠敬が測定し、死後、弟子の人が完成させました）
私たちが何気なく見ている日本地図ですが、測定はとても大変です。
便利な測定器もない時代、伊能忠敬は歩幅で測定したんです！
それに衝撃でした…！
日本中を歩いて地図を書いていったのです。
それに加え、お手製の測定器も使われていたそうです。

私が小学生の頃は、伊能忠敬に憧れ、歩幅で学校までの距離を測る実験をしました。
